The panel cast seven out of twenty-four votes in favor of Cronenberg’s A Dangerous Method, a count far above the total votes attained by other movies chosen by the panel.

With Sarah Polley, another gifted director from Canada already having bagged four out of the twenty-four votes for her movie ‘Take This Waltz’, Cronenberg’s seven votes ensured that Canada ruled the Toronto Film Festival this year.

The 50 selected movies would be screened at the TIFF from September 8-18, 2011.

Well, all said and done, Canada has been able to assign respect to the festival’s venue, as a land gifted with talents like Cronnenberg and Polley.

When you look at Dean Winters, what meets your eyes is a handsome man, who seems to have everything going perfectly for him.

Right from those enviable Greek god looks, to a sinewy physique that one can die for, one would think that the actor was born with a silver spoon. But, the truth is far different from that. The tragic past of the actor is enough to tug at anyone’s heart strings.

Before we get to that, let me get clearer about the man I’m talking about. Well, the hint to that lies in the pilot episode of the Happy Town series, which was the first and sadly the last episode to feature the actor.

As you watch this particular episode, you’ll be left with no doubt about the acting prowess of the actor, as he plays John Haplin on the show, with complete acting acumen. The replacement of Dean after a single episode stint came as a shock to many.

I can recollect how that shock intensified after a few months as rumors about his death began to do rounds. You would be shocked to know that his ‘death’ was indeed death. Suffering from a long-running bacterial infection, Dean succumbed to his illness, and his heart actually stopped beating for two and a half minutes on June 19, 2009!
